Hike in the Oberstdorf Mountains in Allgäu Germany

Walk along Breitachklamm Gorge in Allgäu Germany
Breitachklamm Gorge, one of the deepest canyons in Central Europe, is a natural wonder that should not be missed. Formed over thousands of years by the rushing waters of the Breitach River, this gorge is up to 150 meters deep in some areas. The Breitachklamm gorge is open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.
You can park by Tiefenbach for a fee of €4. You can currently only pay with cash.
Be aware that the gorge can get quite crowded during peak season and hours, so opting for public transportation is advised. Take bus 44 from Oberstdorf main station towards Breitachklamm.
Visit the Historical Town of Kempten in Allgäu Germany

Highline179, Austria
Just a short drive from the Allgäu, across the border into Austria, is the Highline179, one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in the world. Spanning 406 meters, this bridge offers stunning views of the Tyrolean Alps and the surrounding valleys. Walking across the Highline179 is an adrenaline rush you won’t find anywhere else, as the bridge sways gently underfoot.

By car:

By public transport from Kempten:
It’s quite tricky to get to highline179 by public transport, though the jouney only takes about 2 hours.
From Kempten central station take bus RB73 towards Oy-mittelberg. Get off at the end station and change to bus EV to Pfronten-stein. Change to bus S7 to Reutte station where you’ll have to take bus 150 towards Nassereith Postplatz and get off at Reutte in Tirol Abzw Ehrenberger Klause. From here the suspension bridge is about 5 min. Walk away.
